A FIELD of 14 women took to the Millicent Golf Club last week for the opening round of the Anne Whitty Memorial Trophy.
Played as a par round, Mary Winser claimed the A Grade honours with +2 from Kirsty Bailey on -1.
Lyn Watson was best of the B Graders and secured the win on -1 from Heidi Muhovics, also on -1.
Ball winners included Val Williams -2, Kathy Webber -3 and Annie Maclennan -4 on a countback.
Williams also topped the field for the nine hole competition with a +1.
Nearest the pins had Winser closest on the third hole, which contributed towards her birdie, while her second shot to the 16th for handicaps 0-24 was also the best of the day.
Muhovics was closest on the 13th, while Annie MacLennan had the closest second shot to the 17th for 25-54 handicaps and Bec Shanks’ second shot was best on the fifth hole for 32-54 handicaps.
