CASTERTON SANDFORD V WEST GAMBIER

WEST Gambier makes the trip across the border to face Casterton Sandford in Round 6 of Western Border football and should return victorious, going on season form and the last time the two sides met.

Back then it was a comfortable victory to the Roos and not much has changed since then.

The Roos held the Cats scoreless in the opening term and pushed on from there.

While the Cats made the most of their time with the ball in hand in the second term, they socred just three straight goals, while holding the Ross to two majors and a minor.

The third quarter saw the Roos back on top and they finished off with a six-goal final term to run the game out.

A total of 11 Roos contributed on the scoreboard, with Michael Minuzzo and Ben Papps kicking three each.

Callum Wagstaffe and Jordan Williams slotted home two each, with the rest coming from singles.

West sits second on the ladder, with just one loss – to Millicent.

The Cats have managed two wins and sit in fourth place, a position they would like to hold onto.

Unfortunately that will be left up to another game to decide that, as the Cats will not beat West.
