THE Mount Gambier Golf Club women teed off for the second round of the Monthly medal last week, on the back of a successful Club Championship.
Division 1’s Kate McCormick was still on a high from her win in the B Grade Championship win last week and was a clear winner, with a score of nett 68, five shots clear of her nearest rival in Carol Davis on nett 73.
Lorraine Stratford claimed Division 2 with a score of nett 74, followed closely by Heather Chapman on nett 75.
The pro shot was won by Maxine McGregor on the eighth hole, while nearest the pin in A Grade went to Jess Parsons, B Grade to Vicki Clarke and C Grade to Yvonne Shirley.
Next week players will be contesting two competitions at the same time, with the state Shylie Rymill Foursomes and club Foursomes Championship.
Meanwhile 17 women played a stableford event on Saturday, with Vicki Clarke the clear winner on 37 points, four shots ahead of second-placed Trudy Johnson on 33.
