HATHERLEIGH v MOUNT BURR

The Mozzies head to Hatherleigh this weekend to face the Eagles in the Mid South East netball match of the round.

Heading into the fifth round of the season, both teams have just one win on the board and sit sixth and seventh on the ladder respectively.

Mount Burr’s strong defensive line-up of Megan Thiele and Olivia Dean combine well and will work overtime to put the pressure on for Hatherleigh goalies Demi Vanderhorst and Maddie Pulmer.

At the other end Hatherleigh’s Lara MacGregor, Elly Redden and Maddie Redman are able to use their height well in the defensive circle.

They will put Mozzies Ebony Clark, Lauren Wheeler and Ella Easterby to the test and the trio will need to work the ball into the attacking circle with patience.

Hatherleigh’s Tegan Telfer and Mount Burr’s Laura Schultz will battle through the mid court and their tussle will go a long way to deciding the flow of the game.

A tight contest is expected and the result could easily go either way.

PORT MACDONNELL v NANGWARRY

After an unsettled game for the Saints in Round 4, Nangwarry will look for an improved result when it travels to Port MacDonnell this week.

However, a bounce-back win will not come easily and the Demons enter the round off a good win over Mount Burr.

Goalies Kori Collins and Megan Hein were Port MacDonnell’s best last week and they will present a challenge for Nangwarry defenders Kayla Gray and Chrystal Lock.

Lock carries good form into the match, but the Saints will hope for some returning players after last round’s 80-goal loss to Kalangadoo.

Gray and Lock will need to work hard to create turnovers in order for goalies Cassie Dinnison and Demi Hoffmeister to be presented with opportunity to score.

Port MacDonnell’s Liza Mutch and Shannon Schiedl flow the ball down the court well and feed into their goalies with ease.

Defenders Alana Berkefeld and Alysha Coon will apply pressure through the defensive circle and both enter the round in good form.

The Saints will give their all, but the win should go the way of the home team.

KALANGADOO v TANTANOOLA

Kalangadoo hosts Tantanoola for Round 5 in what could be a tight game.

The Magpies have proven to be a strong side this season, but the Tigers will come out firing as they chase a second win for the season.

Tantanoola defenders Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe will need to work overtime to create turnovers before the ball reaches the hands of Kalangadoo’s capable goalies Abbey Duncan and Lara Munro.

Munro comes off a dominant performance against Nangwarry, where the Magpies piled on an overwhelming 101 goals in an 80-goal thrashing.

She will be one to keep an eye on again, while down the other end of the court Jami Walker and Keryl Ousey will need to keep building on their strong connection in the Tantanoola goal circle.

They will need to shoot with accuracy as any rebounds will be snatched up by Lauren Kain or Georgia Gentile.

The match has the potential to be close and could go either way.

GLENCOE v ROBE

An intriguing match up will unfold when Glencoe hosts Robe on Saturday.

Both teams will be fighting to get another win under their belts and both enter Round 5 with three victories to date.

Glencoe’s strength in the goal circle through Jenna Paproth and Chantelle Cocks will be well matched by Robe defenders Emma Wheal and Georgia Perkins.

Robe’s Annie Regnier and Glencoe’s Donna Jaeschke will have a tight tussle through the mid court and both players have started the season well.

Whoever can gain the ascendancy and get their hands over passes will give their team the advantage, with both with both able to open up a game with their mid-court prowess.

In the Roosters’ attack Tori Gluyas and Demi Carter are both able to shoot with accuracy throughout the ring.

However they will need to be fed well from outside of the circle to avoid Murphies Sarah Edwards and Chelsea Owen from getting their hands to ball to create turnovers.

There are many good matchups down the court for these two teams and it will definitely be a game to watch.
