EAST GAMBIER v WEST GAMBIER

THE battle between the 2021 champions and the reigning premiers would normally be the match of the round.

However, it will be a tough outing for East Gambier given its personnel changes since taking the 2021 title.

It will be made all the more difficult when facing a West Gambier sporting the same line-up which claimed last year’s premiership.

East has two players remaining from that 2021 premiership side – Bo Creek and Tarsh McCallum – and they will need to be in the Bulldogs’ best if they are to challenge the undefeated Roos.

McCallum will run the attacking end of the court as she looks to build chemistry between the new shooting combination of Casey Horrigan and Renee Henke, while Creek rules the roost at the defensive end.

She combines with Morgan Amy, aided by the mid-court pressure coming from Eliza Cole and Chloe Perryman.

West looked unstoppable in the opening round and were challenged last weekend by North.

However, with Sarah Ritter dominating the shooting circle, Tara Bryant doing the same in the mid court and Amy Cram continuing to enhance her reputation as arguably the best defender in the competition, the Roos have no weaknesses.

They will be able to take advantage of the Bullodgs still trying to gel as a team and will take the points comfortably.
