THE 2023 Bowls SA Prestige Medley was held last weekend and was contested by the 12 regions across the state.

Each region fielded nine players for the two-day event, which included Pairs, Triples and Fours.

The women competed at the Playford Bowling Club, while the Men were at Modbury with both greens undercover.

The South Eastern women in Pool 2 had a very successful two days and defeated the eventual winner Metro South during the course of the rounds.

Women’s results:

Pool 1:

Metro East: 51 points +68

Yorke Peninsula: 31 points +22

Metro West: 31 points -29

North Eastern: 27 points -13

Eyre Peninsula: 22 points -25

Fleurieu and KI: 18 points -23

Pool 2:

Metro South: 37 points +29

South Eastern: 32 points +10

Eastern: 32 points -12

Upper North: 28 points -23

Lower North: 26 points -8

Metro North: 25 points -4

The play off between Metro East and Metro South was won by South 44/9 – 35/3.

South Eastern finished second in its pool which made it equal third with Yorke Peninsula overall.

The South East’s Triples team consisted of Jodi Kotz, Sarah Ross and Cathy Healy.

The Triples team won two games and lost three over the course of the weekend.

Heather Richards and Jenny Bowering teamed up for the women’s Pairs and won two games, lost two games and drew one.

Belinda Pepper skippered the Fours team consisting of Judith Grosvenor, Lindy Mark and Jody Mark.

They won two games, lost two and drew one.

Pool 1:

York Peninsular: 42 points +36

Metro East: 33 points +15

Fleurieu and KI: 30 points +7

Metro West: 30 points +5

North Eastern: 24 points -19

Eyre Peninsula: 21 points -44

Pool 2:

Metro North: 44 points +52

Metro South: 43 points +41

Lower North: 30 points -19

Upper North: 28 points +10

Eastern: 18 points -42

South Eastern: 17 points -42

The play-off between York Peninsula and Metro North was won by North with the final score 42/10 – 41/2.

Chris Waugh, Tony Bowditch and Dean Burgoyne flew the flag for the South East in the triples and won two of their five games.

Greg Carpenter and Eric Pitt competed in the Pairs and won one games, while Adam Wilson, Wayne Ross, Ian Williams and Tim Wrightson won three games in the Fours.
