THERE was a solid field of golfers who competed in the April monthly medal as well as the third round of the captain’s trophy.

Ronda Edwards took home the Division 1 and monthly medal win after a strong performance which ended in her finishing with a score of 87/15/72.

After scoring 48 on the outward nine with only just the one par on the fifth hole, there was work still to be done on the back nine if she was to come away with the win.

Edwards scored 39 off the stick to come with a birdie on the 11th hole and pars on the 14th, 15th and 16th holes.

Sue Agars and Helen Stratford mirrored one another’s scorecards as they both signed for 92/19/73 with splits of 46/46.

In the count-back Agars claimed second-place while Stratford had to settle for third.

Agars had pars on the first, second, fifth, 12th and 16th holes, while Stratford managed a par on the dog-leg ninth hole and a birdie on the 12th.

Recent 2023 Division 2 handicap champion Jo Gogan continued her strong form and took home another win after finishing with a score of 111/35/76.

It was a consistent performance from Gogan as she finished with splits of 57 and 54.

Rose Case was a narrow runner-up with a score of 114/38/76, which included a par on the par-three second hole.

Carol Melhuish rounded out the podium placed on 114/36/78.

After struggling on the front nine with 61 strokes, she turned it around on the back nine with a respectable 53.

The nearest to the pin second shot winners were Annette Ford and Dianne Allen

The novelty prizes for least putts were won by Stratford and Jaynee Oberer.

Edwards, Stratford and Perryman won novelty prizes for their birdies while Helen Myers and Kate Hommelhoff were rewarded for their ferrets.

SATURDAY

There were 15 women who competed in the fourth round of the Summer Trophy stroke competition.

Kate Hommelhoff came home with a winning score of 96/28/74 which included four pars and an outward 46.

She backed it up with a solid 50 on the inward nine which was helped by a par on the 12th hole and a birdie on the 13th.

Ronda Edwards signed for 90/15/75 to take home second place.

She scored three pars on the outward nine to run with 47 strokes.

Edwards claimed second place after a five-way tie with Lyn Annand 108/33/75, Helen Stratford 94/19/75, Josie Ashby 97/22/75 and Dianne Perryman 95/20/75.
