CASADIO Park is the place to be for soccer fans this Anzac Day, with three matches between International and Gambier Centrals taking place.

This afternoon will open with the men’s Reserves clash at 12.30pm, followed by the women at 2.30pm, while the feature A Grade men’s game will be played under Inter’s new lights later in the evening.

It promises to provide an afternoon of entertainment as the two heavyweight clubs go toe-to-toe in the first games of the premiership season.

After the recent preseason tournament, Centrals’ women’s team showed some promise with two wins from five games to finish third, while Inter had some tight battles.

The girls in black and blue finished with a single win, while two draws had them finish fourth overall for the carnival.

Despite their finish positions, Inter defeated Centrals 5-0 in the shortened format games which will give the home team confidence heading into the meeting.

The men’s Reserves match could be a close one, with both teams hoping to improve on their 2022 campaigns.

Inter and Centrals finished third and fifth respectively and will be out to kickstart 2023 with a win.

Likewise there will be a point to prove when the two clubs meet in the senior clash under lights.

Scheduled for a 6pm start, last year’s grand finalists will be eager to make an impression in the rematch.

Inter won their preseason carnival meeting, although this time around it will be a full-length game.

It is sure to be one not to miss and could provide some insight into the season ahead.
