DIVISION 1 finals fever hit Blue Lake Sports Park on Saturday, as Tigers and South faced off to see who would take on Centrals in the Mount Gambier baseball season decider.
It was always going to be a tense game, with the most composed side likely to take the victory.
In the early stages both side put a clinic in the field, with the hitters struggling to get on base.
Tigers broke the drought in the bottom of the fifth inning when a Ben Marcus line-drive up the third baseline kicked it off.
Karl Ransom followed with a sacrifice bunt to move Marcus around and he was brought home by a Jake Powell solo shot for the opening run of the game.
Jake England then got on base and was brought home by Jesse Foster and suddenly Tigers were away.
South was then held tight off some impressive defence by Brodie Foster.
Tigers added further pain to South with a three-run seventh inning to break the game open.
It was tough for South to make inroads into the lead, as Alex Reppin was in total control on the mound for Tigers.
Tigers scored another run in the seventh inning and when Reppin was replaced in the ninth by Ransom it was just three outs for Ransom and the game was Tigers.
A 7-0 victory booked Tigers a grand final berth with the chance to go back-to-back, if they can overcome the strength of Centrals.
Meanwhile in Division 2 South defeated Millicent Bandits in an upset to book their grand final berth.
It was not all doom and gloom for South, as the Division 2 side scored an upset win over Millicent Bandits to book a grand final berth against Tigers.
It was an impressive come-from-behind victory for South after being down by three runs late in the game.
