THE Mount Gambier and District rep cricket team is on the cusp of glory and will take on Warrnambool in the grand final of the KFC Festival of Cricket this Sunday.

In the three games before the grand final, Mount Gambier has claimed three wins, all in comprehensive fashion.

Emerson Marks was a standout in the first game as he scored 110 runs against Wimmera Mallee, while Jack Mullan stood out two weeks ago with 45 runs against Horsham.

With the ball, Robbie Drenthen, Nick McInerney, Isaac Mulraney and Alex Hentschke will be the players to watch.

The four bowlers have been some of the best in the Barber Shield and Big Bash this year and will look to continue their form when they travel to Monivae College in Hamilton this weekend.

For Warrnambool, Geoffrey Williams and Chris Bant will look to do the damage with the bat at the top of the order.

In Round 3, Williams scored 115 runs, while Bant was tragically run out on 99 against Portland.

Robert Saker will be a player Mount Gambier batters will need to be wary of after he claimed six wickets back in December.

After an claiming three comprehensive wins, Mount Gambier will head in as favourites but can expect a challenge from a strong Warrnambool side.

The one-day clash is set to start at 10am local time.
