Penola’s Nanette Wallace, Sue McShane and Kay Wetherall claimed their club’s women’s triples championship title last week.

They defeated Kathy Brooks, Jean Rogers and Gail Hetherington in the final to secure the 2022-23 honours.

The Friday Pennant competition was met by terrible bowling conditions.

Penola’s Division 1 Red side lost to Mount Gambier RSL Red 35-56, while Division 1 Blue was defeated by Millicent Red by 15 shots, 35-50.

On Saturday Penola’s Open Division 1 team suffered a convincing loss.

They played Port MacDonnell and went down by 47 shots, 41-88.

In Division 3 South Penola had a win, defeating Millicent by eight shots 63-55, while Division 3 North saw Penola win big over Lucindale 106-48.

There will be no Friday Pennant competition this week due to the round robin to be played in Adelaide.

Looking ahead to Saturday and Penola’s Division 1 Open Pennant side hosts Mount Gambier RSL Blue.

Division 3 South travels to Mount Gambier RSL to play the Red team, while Division 3 North ventures to neighbouring club Kalangadoo.

On Sunday the men’s and women’s Champion of Champion Singles will be played at Beachport.

Friday night teas will be held at the club starting at 6pm.
