RETURNING to the indoor archery venue Blue Lake archers had the unusual distraction of a large flock of noisy Corellas on the roof and around the venue.

The archers were able to ignore the distraction and proceeded with a pair of 18-metre rounds.

It was a case of keeping it in the family as Fiona Allison and partner Jeff Puckridge shared the accolades for the two rounds.

Allison snared the first round, keeping up her recent run of over the benchmark results, the handicap system is catching up, reducing the overrun to just eight points over the 300-point benchmark.

Puckridge was the runner-up and had the bragging rights of best off-the-bow score.

The tables were turned in round two with Puckridge pouring on the coal to find an extra eight points off-the-bow to win round two by nine points from Allison.

Outdoors on Sunday afternoon the nominations into the events on offer had two in a 30m Geelong round and the remainder in a triple distance World Archery 60/900 round.

Both rounds required 90 scored arrows and as now the norm.

The winner for the day is the best adjusted result across the two events.

On the 30-metre range an opening score of an All Gold End proved not to be a flash in the pan for Anthony Cox.

He followed up a few ends later with a Perfect 60 point end, earning Cox his first Perfect 60 medal.

The group competing in the WA 60/900 did their best to chase down the pair in the Geelong round.

It proved to be an exercise in futility even though Tamika Mullan and Puckridge had tied scores just off their benchmarks.

Puckridge prevailed over Mullan in the count-back, but the results showed Allison had picked up her second win of the weekend, Cox claiming the runner-up position for the second week in a row.

Indoor archery continues at the Blue Lake Gymnastics Club, Malseed Park Friday at 7pm, followed by outdoor archery at Corriedale Park from 12.30pm Sunday.
