IT will be a case of do or die for the Millicent Magic men this week as they face the real chance of dropping out of the playoffs in the 2022-23 Country Basketball League.

The Magic have been one of the top teams this season but have now dropped down to fifth place on the ladder.

To add to the turmoil they face a tough second-placed Ararat Redbacks on Saturday, with a loss likely to count the Magic out of a playoff position.

The Portland Coasters sit between the Magic and a fourth place finish, also with a tough weekend ahead.

The Coasters take on Colac Kookas on Saturday, a quite win-able game, before a tough road trip to face the Mount Gambier Lakers on Sunday.

It will come down to what other teams do as far as the Magic is concerned, but ideally they would need to win their clash against Ararat to set the scene.

Last time the two sides faced off the Magic did claim the win, but that was with a full roster, something they will not enjoy this weekend.

Meanwhile the women have a bye, before their final game of the season against Surfcoast Chargers on January 28.
