It was a case of taking the game deep for Heather Carthew as she claimed the honours in the Millicent Bowls Club’s Ladies Championship Singles title last week.
Carthew faced Lynn Scudds in the grand final over 25 ends.
In a tight contest, scores were tied after eight end at six shots each, with Carthew then able to score five shots to claim the lead.
However, Scudds then won the following four ends to take the lead by three shots and at the 23rd end scores were tied up at 17 shots each.
From there Carthew won consolidated and claimed the win 26-20 and the singles title for the 2022-23 season.
