South East Field and Game held its Christmas sporting clays event on the weekend.

The day kicked off at Burrungule Park with the Champion of Champions shoot off, contested by all monthly high gun winners for the year.

Jeremy Kent claimed the annual honours for the 20-target old style sporting layout, but it did not come easily.

A three-way sudden death shoot off was required to determine the result, after Kent, Jamie Dunn and Ron Rhook all tied on 17/20.

Kent prevailed to earn the Kevin Dyson Trophy for 2022.

Another notable effort came from wildcard entrant Ben Hastings, as the promising junior shot a 16/20.

Following the Champion of Champions event, a field of 94 competitors took part in the 50-target Christmas Sporting Clays shoot.

Ken Atkin set a challenging course to test shooter’s skills and fresh from his victory in the earlier shoot off, Kent won the day with a 48/50.

His solid score included the only possible 25, to claim the high gun.

Other strong performances came from Tony Sellars who won A Grade with 47/50 and Kain Ashby’s 43/50 to claim the Sub-Juniors honours.
