Meanwhile, 22 women played in and 18-hole competition and five in a nine-hole stableford on Wednesday.

A four-way count-back was required in Division 1 between Cherryl Hill, Lee-Anne Medhurst, Annette Ford and Geraldine Scott, who all signed for 36 points.

Playing off 24, Hill had splits of 17/19, with pars on the fifth, 12th and 14th holes, no wipes and the better back nine score to take first prize.

Off 25, Medhurst claimed second place after splits of 18/18, pars on the second, fifth and 15th holes, with one wipe.

Ford was off 24 and had to settle for third, also with splits of 18/18, pars on the fourth and 14th holes and no wipes.

Scott played off 25 and had splits of 19/17, with pars on second, 11th and 16th holes, with one wipe.

The score of the day came from Division 2’s Lucy Richards with 39 points.

Richards had three four-pointers, five three-pointers and splits of 21/18, a great score considering the three wipes on her card.

Lee Anderson has worked hard to break her handicap of 45 and has strung a few good games together, including the 37 points posted from splits of 19/18.

It included two four-pointers, pars on the fifth and 16th holes, three three-pointers, with three wipes.

Rose Case finished third with 33 points from one four-pointer, six three-pointers and three wipes.

Nearest to pin second-shot winners were Annette Ford and Lesley McPherson, while Lee-Anne Medhurst was the pro-shot winner.

Ferret prizes went to Anderson on the fifth hole, Sue Agars the 17th, Hill the 12th and McPherson on the 18th.

Fourteen women played a par competition on Saturday and in the long-awaited summer weather it was Cherryl Hill who had a sizzling score of +8.

Her outward nine of +3 and inward nine of +5 saw no wipes and included pars on the second, ninth, 12th, 14th, and 17th holes for 87 off the stick.

Fiona Punton had +3 on the front and square on the back and after pars on the fifth, seventh, ninth, 12th, 14th and 15th holes, would have rued the four wipes on her card.

Karen Panagopoulos followed with +1 that included pars on the third, fifth, 12th and 15th holes.

Punton won the best front nine prize.
