Double-header road trip

DEPTH: Joshua Murphy is one of many capable scorers in the Millicent Magic roster and will look for strong outings in this week's double-header.

A DOUBLE-header on the road awaits Millicent Magic’s Country Basketball League team this weekend.

It will be a critical round for their championship hopes, with the Magic currently sitting in fourth place.

Up against seventh-placed Colac Kookas tomorrow night and sixth-placed Terang Tornadoes on Sunday, Millicent will want to come out of the weekend with two wins prior to a heavyweight clash with Mount Gambier next round.

A loss to Horsham last week will fuel the desire to win, with coach Darren Dean describing the loss as a wake-up call.

Back in Round 3 the Magic defeated Colac by a slim two points, but they have come a long way since then.

A slow start cost them last week and that would surely have been addressed at training this week.

Kade Bradley carries some good form into the double-header, after impressing at both ends of the court against Horsham.

His versatility, paired with the talent of Under 18’s Jack Haggett and Jackson Bowden gives plenty of depth to the side.

Throw in the likes of Joshua Murphy and Frazer Bradley – the latter of which scored 44 points against Mount Gambier two weeks ago – and the Magic has no shortage of depth.

If they can keep up the intensity and start strongly, Millicent should come out of the weekend with a pair of wins.
