NATIONAL bragging rights were on the line over the weekend, with a contingent of Mount Gambier disc golfers attending the 2022 Australian Disc Golf Championships.

Hosted at the Tunnel Ridge Ranch course on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, four Limestone Coast players managed a placing at the event.

Of those two national champions were crowned, as Nicole McPherson and Kate Eldridge topped their divisions.

Eldridge competed in the FA2 Intermediate Women category, where she recovered from a seven-shot deficit to tie for first place with Alice Reindl.

That saw a playoff required to determine the title winner, which Eldridge won on the first hole.

McPherson proved the one to beat in the FA4 Novice Women, where she claimed the title by four shots over Toleira Blackburn and fellow Mount Gambier player Michelle Schulz.

Youngster Jessica Holman competed in the FJ15 class against a familiar foe, as she battled with Anita Weber for the bragging rights.

Holman entered the event as reigning champion and fresh off a win at the Eruption tournament in Mount Gambier last month.

However, after the three rounds she had to settle for second place, three shots behind Weber.
