THE Mount Gambier Pioneers announced the re-signing of Sherrie Calleia for the 2023 NBL1 season earlier this week.
The 23-year-old guard averaged 35 minutes on the court for the Pioneers last season and returned an average of 15.36 points per game with a field goal percentage of 41.84.
Calleia also picked up 4.95 assists per game and 5.27 rebounds per game.
She continued to be a fan-favourite in 2022 and Pioneers women’s coach Matt Sutton was delighted she had re-signed for the program.
“She took a big leap in her own game for us in 2022 and will continue to do so with Canberra in the Women’s NBL, where she is currently playing,” Sutton said.
“I can’t wait to get back to work with her in 2023.”
Calleia will join imports Cassandra Brown and Haleigh Reinoehl, who will be returning for the 2023 NBL1 South season which is set to tip-off in April.
