THE Mount Gambier Gun Club held its monthly competition on Saturday in fine conditions wand as a result, shooters obtained some commendable high scores.

The opening event was the Noel Barr Toyota 50 target Balltrap Championship.

This competition was shot with enthusiasm as the targets are harder to follow due to the angles and speed but still the shooters attained impressive scores.

Andrew Hoare shot 46/50 to win AA Grade from Dougal Simson, who scored 45/50.

Harry Clark shot 46 targets to just edge out Jesse Murrell by one shot.

Darren Murrell scored 43/50 to defeat Ken Atkin by three targets to claim B Grade.

Jeremy Kent shot 41 targets to claim C Grade by just one shot over Daniel Ashby.

The Jens Hotel 25 target Handicap Championship was shot with great accuracy with competitors shooting from 15 to 25 metres depending on their gradings.

Dale Robertson was the winner with an impressive score of 24/25.

There were six shooters who all obtained the same score and as a result, a shoot-off was required to determine the minor placings.

In the end, it was Jesse Murrell who claimed second place with an impressive score of 30/32.

Murrell was followed by Marcato on 29/32, Harry Clark on 28/31 and McKinnon with a score of 25/28.
