Kalangadoo claimed another Mid South East netball preliminary final victory in the B Reserves grade, accounting for Port MacDonnell in a tight affair.

The first quarter set the stage for the contest, as goalies from both teams struggled to hit the ring and had to work hard to keep the ball at their ends.

Kalangadoo led by one goal at the first break, in a contest which pushed both sides to the limit.

The second quarter was again tight, with both teams scoring 12 goals.

That kept the Magpies with a tentative one-goal advantage and the stage set for an epic final half.

The third quarter saw Port MacDonnell’s Ainsley Mann shoot accurately to keep the Demons in the hunt, as did Kalangadoo’s Jodie Greenwood to keep the game at a tight contest.

Kalangadoo made several changes in the last quarter which seemed to unsettle Port MacDonnell and changed the momentum of the game.

The Magpies capitalised, outscoring the Demons by six goals to run out deserving victors.

Best players for Kalangadoo were Angie Morgan and Samantha Mulraney, with Briodie Wilson and Paige Cawthorne best for Port MacDonnell.
