here was nothing on the line but pride for Nangwarry and Robe in Round 18 of Mid South East football on Saturday.

With neither side in the finals race, a chance for a second victory for the season was presented to the Saints but the Roosters were having none of that.

Having made the long trip from the seaside down to Nangwarry to round out the season, Robe began in ominous form with a 42-point lead at the first break.

The Saints turned the tide somewhat in the second term but could not make huge inroads into the lead, trailing by 37 points at the main break.

The Roosters kicked into gear after the break and extended to margin to ensure no come-back from the home side would eventuate.

They added another four majors in the third quarter while limiting the Saints to just two, then finished off with another four to round out the game.

Jack Sneath and Joel Bryant were in good form in front of the big sticks for the victors, with seven and six goals respectively.

Simon Ferguson contributed two.

For the Saints, it was a strong showing from spearhead forward Andrew Hyland, who rounded out his season with six majors, while Jack Pudney kicked two.

Hyland finished the minor season in third place on the goal kicking list, with 60 majors to his name.
