Mount Burr v Tantanoola

The final minor round of Mid South East netball is important for both Mount Burr and Tantanoola.

The winner will secure a spot in the top four to play finals, with the loser’s season then in mothballs.

The Mozzies will host the contest and will need to use their home court to advantage.

Mount Burr defenders Olivia Dean and Madi Hagget may be young but have shown their maturity this season, with both players bringing strength and determination to the defensive circle for the Mozzies to force any opponents to earn every possession.

At the other end of the court Tantanoola’s Kate Bromley and Tayla Rowe also combine well and put the pressure on for their opposition, forcing errors and creating turnovers.

Tantanoola goalies Emma Gould and Jami Walker are accurate and fed well from outside the circle by Casey Walker and Madi Kelly.

This game will be a tough one and has the potential to go either way.

With both teams vying for a spot in the finals, it will definitely be one to watch.

Nangwarry v Robe

Nangwarry hosts Robe, with the Roosters all-but guaranteed a finals berth.

Robe currently sits in third place on the ladder, equal on points with Tantnaoola.

The Saints are yet to win this season, suggesting Robe is in the box seat toclaim the points and leave no doubt about their position.

Both teams have seen season-ending injuries but have been able to fill those positions.

Robe’s goalie combination of Halle Carter and Sarah Laurie are accurate and will use any opportunity to score, even under the defensive pressure of Hayley Burner and Carly Ploenges.

The Saints shooters Ange Pratt and Tahlia Wilson will also work hard to score every opportunity for their team.

In the defensive circle for Robe, Georgia Perkins and Ellen Ramke will work tirelessly to put the pressure on Nangwarry’s shooters.

Robe’s Annie Hunter and Nangwarry’s Ebony Lawson will have a good tussle down the court.

In the end the Roosters will be too strong and finish the day with the win.

Hatherleigh v Kalangadoo

Hatherleigh heads to Kalangadoo this weekend to face off against the Magpies.

Hatherleigh’s strong defensive combination of Demi Vanderhorst and Lara MacGregor will work overtime to put the pressure on the Magpie’s goalies.

Abbey Duncan and Kori Collins will earn every possession and score with accuracy.

At the other end of the court Hatherleigh has had a few changes in their goal circle due to injury and could utilise a few combinations but will be led with strength from inside the circle by Maddie Redman.

Kalangadoo’s defenders Lauren Kain and Reanna Wetherall will put the pressure on in the circle, limiting scoring opportunities and creating turnovers for their team.

The Magpies’ strength as a team will show through and they will come away with another win.

Port MacDonnell v Glencoe

Port MacDonnell hosts Glencoe but the venue was still undecided at the time of going to print.

With the football oval still in poor condition due to the recent rains on the refurbished surface, Tantanoola has been suggested as an alternative.

Malinda Markiewicz is a focal point in the circle for Glencoe and when combined with Jenna Paproth they are a force to be reckoned with.

Port MacDonnell’s Alana Winter and Belinda O’Dine will have to work overtime to shut down their influence.

For the Demons, the combination of Toni Gilmore and Kirby Carrison work well together in the goal circle and are fed well from outside the circle by Liza Mutch and Narelle Lewis.

Sarah Edwards and Chantelle Cocks are strong in the defensive circle for Glencoe and will fight to create turnovers and secure any rebounds from Port MacDonnell’s goalies, with great hands-over-ball and movement throughout the circle.

Chloe Pfitzner and Donna Jaeschke also have the ability gain intercepts down the court and force errors through Port MacDonnell’s attack line.

The Demons will not go down without a fight but Glencoe will come away with the win.
