In the clash between seventh and eighth on the ladder, the Hawks tamed the Tigers with a dominant four-quarter performance.

Despite the home-ground advantage, Tantanoola was unable to trouble Kongorong in the first quarter and the visitors led 24-0 at quarter time.

The Tigers managed to get on the scoreboard in the second quarter but there was little to no reprieve for the home side, after the Hawks kicked five majors in the second term, which extended the lead to 35 points at the main break.

The onslaught continued in the third quarter when Kongorong added another six goals and led by 61 points with one quarter to play.

The Hawks then kicked four goals to the Tigers’ one in the final quarter as the away side claimed an emphatic 85-point win.

Jarrod Ryan put in a strong performance with four majors for the game.

Michael Waters was the best player for the Hawks with an all-round impressive display which included a goal.

Jett Attard also kicked one major and was named second-best on ground for Kongorong, while Aaron Lightbody was named amongst the Hawks’ best for the fifth game in a row.

Kongorong has now won two of its last three games and is seventh on the ladder with four wins for the season.
