The Roosters claimed their ninth win of the season with an impressive performance against the Demons.

Robe started the game strongly with accurate shooting from Sarah Laurie and Demi Carter, as the pair defied the windy conditions to miss just one shot for the quarter.

Port MacDonnell’s Toni Gilmore and Brooke Williams moved the ball well in the goal circle and also shot accurately but the home side held a five-goal lead at quarter time.

The second quarter was a more evenly contested when Gilmore took control in the circle and shot with impressive accuracy.

Ellen Ramke stepped up for Robe at wing defence to put pressure on Narelle Lewis in the mid-court.

Alana Winter and Kate Winterfield stepped up in defence for the Demons and made Laurie and Carter work for every goal.

Both sides scored 12 goals for the quarter and the Roosters went into the main break with a 26-21 lead.

Robe fired out of the blocks in the third quarter to extend the lead and take control of the game.

Laurie put in a dominant performance for the quarter and all seven players on the court for the Roosters put the Demons under pressure.

Emma Grant and Georgia Perkins got plenty of touches and rebounds as Robe’s intensity lifted to extend the margin to 12 goals at three-quarter time.

The final quarter was an even contest as Robe ran out 12-goal winners.

Ramke and Laurie were the best players for the Roosters, while Gilmore and Jess Trench were the best on court for the Demons.
