INTERNATIONAL 3 d BLUE LAKE 1

INTERNATIONAL bounced back from its shock draw with Apollo, with a strong win over the second-placed Blue Lake in Round 12 of Limestone Coast women’s soccer.

Tess Andrews made the difference when she scored two goals for Inter.

The league’s two best goal-scorers both found the back of the net, as Ella Doody scored for Inter, while Chelsea Frost scored the Rangers’ solitary goal.

Frost leads Doody by one goal in the golden boot race this year.

Blue Lake will look to return to form when it takes on Naracoorte this weekend.

MILLICENT UNITED 1 d GAMBIER CENTRALS 0

In a game which was poised to have major implications on finals, Millicent came out on top with a hard-fought win over the Lions.

Leonie McCallum scored the decisive goal when she found the back of the net for the first time this season.

The gap between the fourth-placed Centrals and United in fifth, has been reduced to just point with three games left in the season.

Out of the two sides, Millicent has a slightly easier run home and could potentially steal fourth place from the Lions, who have occupied the last finals place since Round 6.

United face a tough task this weekend as they face the league-leaders Inter at Casadio Park.

APOLLO 9 d NARACOORTE 1

After an impressive result against Inter in Round 11, Apollo backed it up with an emphatic win over Naracoorte on the weekend.

Deni Atkin was the standout for Apollo with a hat-trick, while Paris Ackland marked her return with two goals.

Zoe Brooksby scored a hat-trick as well.

Brooksby has been a prominent figure in attack, with nine goals for the season.

Gabriel Tentye also found the back of the net for Apollo in a one-sided display.

For Naracoorte, it was Hayley Fulton who found the back of the net.

Fulton has scored two goals this season in what has been a difficult campaign for Naracoorte.

Apollo is now undefeated in six games and will look to continue its string form when it takes on Centrals on Saturday.

A win for Apollo will confirm its place in finals.
