Basketballers win State Championships

A TEAM of 23 students from Years 7 and 8 recently travelled to Adelaide to compete for Tenison Woods College in the state finals for basketball.

Both the Girls’ and Boys’ teams claimed the Sate Championships in after a string of impressive performances and progressed through the round-robin and semi-finals.

Tenison Woods College took on Immanuel College in the grand final.

The girls had previously lost to this side in the round-robin stage and the pressure was on.

However, the Tenison Woods side stepped up and put in a strong performance to claim an impressive 26-10 victory.

The Boys matched up against a powerful Concordia College side who they also lost to in the round-robin stage.

The grand final was a gripping encounter and Tenison Woods College showed great fight to claim a nail-biting 27-24 overtime-victory.
