Kalangadoo flexed its muscles on Saturday with a big win over reigning premiers Port MacDonnell.

The Mid South East football Round 12 clash was played in heavy conditions at Port MacDonnell and the Magpies made the most of the muddy surface.

From the outset it was clear Kalangadoo had come to play, with 10 scoring shots in the opening term but just four majors in the trying conditions.

While inaccuracy continued to hound the Magpies in the second term, with five more minor scores, they also managed to bang on six goals to extend the lead to 63 points at the long break.

By half time the Demons could only manage a total of 1.2 (8) and it did not improve from there.

Kalangadoo appeared to back off in the third term as the Demons defensive pressure began to pay dividends for the home side.

However, while they held the Magpies to just two majors scores and two minors for the quarter, the Magpies were unable to bother the scorers, leaving plenty to do in the final stanza to make inroads into the deficit.

The Demons found another major in the final term, while Kalangadoo added a further three to finish the game off and claim a comfortable victory.

Up forward the Magpies were able to share the ball around and find the big sticks with relative ease.

Michael Krieger continued to add to his season tally, with another six goals to boost his numbers.

In his 10 games this year Krieger has amassed 55 majors, goal-less only against Hatherleigh back in Round 9.

Interestingly, that was the only blemish for the Magpies this year, as they went down to the Eagles by a fair margin in that round.

But Saturday there was no trouble there, with Krieger joined by Lachy Jones and Sam McManus with two goals each.

Another five players found the big sticks to continue the Magpies trend for the season.
