WEST GAMBIER v NORTH GAMBIER

THE confidence of a good win will fuel West Gambier when it hosts North Gambier in Round 7 of Western Border football tomorrow.

The Roos bounded to a 37-point triumph over Casterton Sandford last week to record their second win of the year.

They will look for similar form against a raging Tigers outfit, which has also started to find its groove.

North comes off the back of two strong wins over Casterton and East respectively.

In both outings the side put in a solid four quarters to outrun its opposition.

Diversity in front of goal was a highlight last week, with 11 goal scores, while the week before Sam Stafford managed a six-goal haul.

It leaves the Tigers as unpredictable inside 50, which is something coach Ben Hardy has been working towards in his first year at the club.

Down back they have been equally impressive, with the likes of Jordan Hollitt, Tim McInerney and Jake Schutz all in form.

Newcomer Dale Bachmann has also been explosive in the backline and carries consistency into the clash.

For West it was the Lawry Bradley-Brown show last week and he found plenty of the ball in his best-on-ground performance.

Jordan Williams and Kyle Giddings have been consistent this year and were also standouts in the triumph over the Cats.

Goals were shared around for the Roos as well and they will need to find a similar impact inside 50 if they are to quell the North defence.

Last time the sides met resulted in the closest game of the season so far, with West claiming the chocolates by three points.

Another close contest can be expected if both teams bring their best, but the Tigers appear a more settled roster and will enter the round as favourites.
