THE Mount Gambier RSL Bowls Club held a Men’s 16 Handicap Pairs tournament on the weekend, with some strong pairs entered,.
The criteria ofr the event meant no pair could exceed a total handicap of 16, with two games of 10 ends played and the third cut short to eight ends due to the inclement weather.
The quality of bowling was high, with all pairs producing some of their best bowling, which resulted in only one pair winning all three games.
The winners were judged to be the pair with the highest number of points at the end of the day and that honour went to Alby McIntyre and Les James with 75 points.
Runners-up with a total of 56 points were Ron Edlington and Malcolm Williamson.
