Hodge claims win

A TOTAL of 82 players braved the cold and wet conditions for Saturday’s Jen’s Hotel Par Round at the Blue Lake Golf Club.

Brenton Hodge claimed the top honours with an impressive round of +2.

Hodge scored 39 on both the front and back-nine, which included a birdie on the 12th hole.

Jamal Jakubenko claimed the A Grade win in a tight contest.

Jakubenko finished the front-nine on -1 but had a strong back-nine and finished on +1.

This was enough to defeat Ben Papps on a count-back.

Tyson Ploenges claimed third place as he hit an impressive 70, to finish on +1 as well.

Adam Dunn put in an impressive performance to claim the win in B Grade.

Dunn had a strong front-nine which included two birdies as he finished the day on +1.

He narrowly defeated David Gould by count-back in another close competition.

Tom Drenthen finished square to claim third place.

Kym Vaughan claimed the win in C Grade as he finished square.

Vaughan ended the front-nine on -1 and scored +1 on the back-nine.

Second place went to Russell Lingham and Dean Zeven claimed third with a score of -2.

There were 14 women that took to the course on Saturday with Beryl Mahoney claiming top honours.

Mahoney had a strong front-nine then held on to finish with an impressive +1.

Jorja Morale finished the day in second place on -3.

Rosemary Martland also finished on -3 and claimed third by a count-back.
