Glencoe 72 d Tantanoola 43

Glencoe flexed its muscles in Round 5 of Mid South East netball, with a comfortable 72-43 victory over Tantanoola.

The Murphies won the toss and took the first centre pass but were unable to convert, with a miss from the goalies and the Tigers’ defenders were strong on the rebound.

The Tigers had a slightly different attack line than usual and Glencoe’s tight defence made them work hard for every ball.

They still managed to find Emma Gould in the ring and put on a few goals before the Murphies could find their feet.

However, it did not take long for Jenna Paproth and Malinda Markiewicz to find their range and Glencoe went to the first break with a small lead.

Sarah Edwards and Chelsea Owen caused havoc for the Tigers’ attackers, picking up any loose balls that came their way.

Glencoe continued to build on its lead, with Donna Jaeschke and Ashlea Edwards finding each other well in attack and delivering the ball into their goalies.

Glencoe extended the margin throughout the game despite multiple changes by the Tigers to try and spark their side.

In the end it was all the Murphies and a comfortable, well-constructed victory.

Chloe Pfitzner and Chelsea Owen were named best for the victors, while the Tantanoola honours went to Michelle Robinson and Bella Poulish.
