Agars wins at Blue Lake

A WOMEN’S par competition was held at the Blue Lake Golf Club last week.

The third round of the Metro Bakery and Café Silver Salver was challenging for those who took part, as only a small number of players played to their handicap.

Sue Agars had the best score of the day with +1.

Agars was three shots ahead of her nearest competitor, Annette Ford.

Agars teed off on the back-nine first and finished her first nine holes with a score of +2.

She had a strong finish to her round as she scored -1 on the front-nine.

Ford finished second with a score of -2, with +1 on the front-nine and -3 on the back-nine.

Ronda Edwards claimed third place with a score of -5.

A count-back was required with Helen Stratford, who also ended on -5.

Kate Hommelhoff won Division 2 and collected the top voucher with a score of -1.

Hommelhoff’s front-nine ended on -1 and she finished level to her handicap on the back-nine.

Lyn Gil claimed second with a score of -2 as she continued her purple patch in form.

Third-placed Carol Melhuish finished with a score of -4 as she ended her back-nine level to her handicap.

Dianne Perryman and Jo Gogan claimed the nearest to the pin awards.

Perryman also won the pro-shot on the fifth hole.

The Blue Lake women’s open day is on May 19 with a two-person Ambrose round to take place.
