South East dominates bowls competition

THE Lower and Upper South East played off for the bowls regional champion of champions at Naracoorte RSL on Saturday.

The Lower South East claimed the most wins in an action-packed day.

Port MacDonnell’s Heather Richards claimed the Women’s Singles title, while Keith’s Marj Richardson finished as runner-up.

The Men’s competition went to Mike Lawless from Tintinara.

Mount Gambier RSL’s Michael Fox was runner-up in the Men’s Singles championship.

Millicent’s Sarah Ross and Adriana Ross claimed the Women’s Pairs ahead of Bordertown’s Chris Poulton and Belinda Pepper.

Penola duo Jack Clifton and Scott Degenhardt claimed the Men’s Pairs ahead of Lawless and Kevin Munro from Tintinara.

The Women’s Triples was won by Chris Murphy, Anne Barker and Jenny Measday, with Angela Lock, Chris Fidock and Cheryl Excell runners-up.

The Men’s Triples was won by David Reichelt, Andre Reinders and Bryan Roper from Millicent, while Padthaway’s Adam Ashton, Anthony Haines and Dean Sanderson were runners-up for the competition.

Bordertown’s Pepper and Poulton claimed the victory in the Women’s Fours alongside Judy Vanderhorst and Julie Wiese.

Sharon Perryman, Jan Dowdell, Judith Grosvenor and Heather Richards were runners-up.

The Men’s Fours was won by Keith’s Gordon Stopp, Warren Sowman, Stewart Brophy and Darryl Stopp while Graeme Ruffin, Dick Coote, Dale Little and Adrian Young were runners-up.
