IN an action-packed night of racing, Australia number one Super Sedan driver Matt Pascoe added the South Australian title to his resume at the Borderline Speedway on Saturday night.

Pascoe faced a 16-strong A Main field over 30 laps to secure the title, with less than a second separating him from second-placed Callum Harper.

Mick Nicola Jnr. rounded out the podium after a feature race which did not disappoint.

Throughout the race, cars came together, with restarts to close the field up.

Harper stuck to to the rear of Pascoe’s machine, refusing to concede until the chequered flag fell.

It was a fitting result considering Pascoe has now claimed titles in every state.

Throughout the night fans were treated to some exciting racing, with 10-lap heats to set up the grid for the feature race.

Kym Jury was victorious in Heat 1, ahead of Jamie Collins and Paul Blenkiron.

Pascoe then showed his class early with a Heat 2 victory, from Steve Latham and Mick Nicola Jnr., with Harper in fourth place.

Mitchell Rigby claimed Heat 3, ahead of Mick Nicola Snr., from Nicola Jnr. and Latham.

Harper stood up in Heat 4 with a win from, David Nichols and Ash Bergmeier, while Pascoe cut through the field to finish fourth.

Heat 5 went to Ryan Alexander in the S18 machine, while Heat 6 went to Nicola Jnr.

The results put Pascoe on the front of the grid for the A Main feature, with Harper alongside and Nicola Jnr. in third.

The top three positions did not change throughout the feature race but Collins dropped out mid-way through, handing handing Alexander fourth place, which he held until the chequered flag.

The action was fast and furious, with a top average speed close to 130kph set by Harper and a lap time of around 13 seconds.

The Blue Lake Classic for Street Stocks provided good support across the night, with Limestone Coast drivers dominating the feature race.

Penola’s Steve Gartner claimed pole position, alongside Mount Gambier’s Jason Duell, with fellow Mount Gambier driver Jayden Edwards in third place.

Gartner and Duell provided entertaining racing from start to finish, with the former holding on for the win, less than half a second ahead of Duell.

Jayden Edwards rounded out the podium.

Formula 500s held Round 3 of their state series, with some entertaining action, which included average speeds above 130kph.

Brendan Zadow made the most of his pole position start, to claim the win ahead of Tim Rankin and Angus Hollis.

To round out a big night of racing, the Junior Sedans plied their trade and the up-and-coming racers also provided plenty of entertainment.

Dylan Barrow claimed the win, from Henry Brumfield and Ollie Bartlett.
