ALL CLASS: Classic machinery will be in action when the Australian Historic Road Race Championships descend on McNamara Park this weekend.

THE long-awaited Australian Historic Road Racing Championships have finally arrived, with the Mount Gambier Motorcycle Club to host the classic machinery at McNamara Park over the weekend.

The championships were postponed in both 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 restrictions but are ready to go for this weekend.

The championships run from Today (Friday) April 1 through to Sunday, April 3 and promises to provide a great spectacle for motor sport fans across the Limestone Coast.

In excess of 300 vintage racing machines have entered, which will provide a chance to see the classic machinery in action as used to be the case in years gone by.

The sight and sound is something not to be missed, regardless of any alliance to any brand.

More than 200 riders from all around the country will face the starter in the various classes, with large grid numbers sure to provide plenty of action.

An Australian champion will be crowned in each category, again providing the incentive to push to the limit.

For those who may think competitors will take is easy on their classic machines, think again.

The Australian Historic Road Race Championships is the premier event on the Australian historic motorcycle racing calendar and all competitors are keen to etch their name in its history.

The McNamara Park circuit has undergone significant improvements in recent years and provides a challenge for riders, along with impressive viewing areas for spectators.
