Errock and East wins Classic Pairs title

ALL roads led to the Bob Cranwell Bowls Centre on the weekend for the 34th Eddie Toman Memorial Classic invitation men’s pairs event.

The prestigious event attracted 24 teams from the region for two day’s of high-standard competition.

This year it was the duo of Mount Gambier’s Brad Errock and Naracoorte’s Graham East who claimed the title.

They booked the win by a slim margin of three shots, after they finished level on nine points with Mount Gambier’s Peter Reppin, Mick Ashby and Toni Renzi.

The podium was rounded out by the Robe/Millicent combination of Dean Burgoyne and Kym Stewart, while Mount Gambier RSL’s Dougie McPhail and Mount Gambier’s Steve Farrell paried up for a fourth-place finish.

Looking at the individual days and Robe’s Peter Gregory and Peter Roachock were the best performers on the opening day, while Millicent’s Bryan Roper and Mount Gambier RSL’s Michael Fox topped day two.
