KYBYBOLITE 19.13 (127) d NORTH GAMBIER 0.0 (0)

A HUGE eight-goal haul by Della Hannaford helped Kybybolite to a comprehensive victory over North Gambier in Round 8 of Limestone Coast women’s football.

Not only that, the stifling defensive effort from the victors kept North scoreless, while each quarter provided a chance to extend the lead by at least four goals.

Kyby kicked five majors in the first term to kick off proceedings, added a further six in the second, four in the third and finished strong with a further four in the final stanza.

Hannaford was joined on the scoresheets by Lily gill with four majors, while Susannah Maber and Sophie Henschke kicked three each.

Best for the victors were Hannaford, Alice Edmonds, Dellie Brown, Tyler Atkinson, Georgia Gill and Sarah Jude.

Best for North were Lorrelle Walker, Chloe Perryman, Eadie Mustart, Penny Coleman, Sarah Thomson and Luca Roulstone.

SOUTH GAMBIER 8.18 (66) d PENOLA 0.1 (1)

WHILE South Gambier made short work of its clash with Penola, the Eagles certainly put up a fight in the opening term.

At the first break Penola had failed to score but applied plenty of defensive pressure and pushed forward at every opportunity.

The Demons managed one major score in the first quarter but from there found the middle of the big sticks with more regularity.

Inaccurate kicking flattered the final score, with 18 behinds making up part of the 66-point final tally.

Alice Tentye again played a major role, with four goals to her name, while the remaining four majors were shared around.

Best for the victors were Kendell Saffin, Cindy Itzerott, Tess Andrews, Melanie Bateman, Tentye and Scarlet Creek.

Best for North Penola were Amanda Wurst, Caroline McGrath, Nell Eastough and Shandeen Balshaw.

MILLICENT 12.3 (75) d KALANGADOO 2.3 (15)

MILLICENT used accuracy in front of goals to ensure a strong victory over Kalangadoo, with just three behinds scored by the victors.

The Saints opened with two straight goals in the first term, then added a further four in the second quarter to open the game up.

Despite a 35-point lead at the final break, the Saints did not let up and put on a four-goal quarter to ice the game.

Best for Kalangadoo were Emily Cooney, Jessica Stone, Sophia Dunn, Stephanie Bingham and Bec Wallace.

MUNDULLA 12.12 (84) d KONGORONG 1.3 (9)

KONGORONG could not utilise its home-ground advantage against the strength of Mundulla, with the visitors claiming a strong victory.

The Hawks were kept goal-less until the final term, while Mundulla methodically increased its lead each quarter.

Melody Maddern led the scoresheets with four major scores for the victors, while Kaylene Nuske and Matilda Harris added two each.

Best for the victors were Natasha Horne, Grace Langley, Zoe Hawker, Casey McElroy, Anna Will and Lisa Hawker.

Best for Kongorong were Stevie Collins, Stevi Clayton, Sheba Miller, Nikki Clayton, Hannah Kuhl-Miller and Annalise Tiller.
