TIGHT competition was the order of the day in the Penola Bowls Club Ladies Handicap Singles sponsored by The Galpin family.

All games were close leading up to the final, which Liz Copping won, ahead of Jo Carlin.

On Friday the women’s Division 2 Pennant team made an early start to the day, travelling to Kingston to play in the grand final.

Many supporters made the trip to see the side claim the premiership honours 49-37 over Mount Gambier.

Meanwhile, the Saturday Open Division 2 Pennant team headed to Kingston, again with plenty of support, to play Kingston on their home ground.

Unfortunately the home-green advantage went the way of Kingston, as they claimed a 71-65 victory in a tight contest.
