A WARM Saturday afternoon at Bolton Reserve saw Tigers host the Millicent/Federals Bandits in Millicent.

Tigers and reigning league medalist Garth Ransom was on the hill and for the Bandits it was the ever-reliable Darcy Pink.

Tigers got away early with a two-run first innings thanks to some strong hitting.

With veteran Ben Marcus back in the top grade, Tigers looked clean and well poised to pounce and make it a blood bath early on.

Millicent/Federals struggled with the bat and could not hit Ransom, his knuckle ball doing its job well.

Tigers continued their big hitting, bringing the total to 4-0 early, while Millicent finally broke the drought in the fifth inning when Pink scored from second base on an overthrow and the Millicent supporters went wild.

Tigers found another gear and the pitching change for Bandits did just did not work.

When a Karl Ransom double scored two runs, the umpire signalled time and game with the final score 11-1.

In the other game, Centrals were to strong for South, claiming a mercy-rule victory at Blue Lake Sports Park.

Tigers will host Centrals Sunday in a double header, while Millicent/Federals will host South in a double header.

Millicent would hope to score runs, with an outside chance to sneak into a finals position.
