Tigers find form

HARD WORK: Despite Mil Lel struggling to contain North Sportsman's, Jack Miller still managed a bag of six wickets.

MARIST Park looked a picture and North Sportsman’s made the most of their time at the crease in Round 8 of Barber Shield cricket on Saturday.

The Tigers were sent into bat by Mil Lel and what followed was a rediscovery of form.

The top four batsmen hit the ground running and began to compile a big score, which Mil Lel will surely struggle to chase down this weekend.

Michael Johnston played a steady hand at the top of the order, eventually dismissed for 34, with the total already at 68.

Two half-centuries followed, as Jake Schutz and Elliott Fisher were set.

Schutz was next to go but not before reaching 55 runs off a steady 165 deliveries and the team total at 117.

Fisher, on the other hand, was finding his runs at a faster rate, while Tom Robertson (31) and Nick McInerney (10) held up their end.

Mitch Lewis came and went for just one run, with Fisher next to go.

However, next to his name stood the impressive figures of 95 runs from just 115 balls.

Harry Fisher was the only other batsman to reach double figures with his 12 runs but in the end North finished the day at 9/258.

Jack Miller was in form with the ball, with figures of 6/55.

it leaves a tall order for Mil Lel to chase down this weekend and will take something special to achieve the desired result.
