A COOL change arrived at the Blue Lake Golf Club for a single stroke competition but it did not deter the 26 keen women from participating.
It was a welcome back into Division 1 for Lynda Nannings with her nett 66, score of the day, playing five strokes under her 29 handicap.
Consistent front and back nine scores of 48/47, which included only one par on the fifth hole, was enough to beat captain Helen Myers for the top of the podium.
Myers also committed to consistency with a nett 68 off a 22 handicap with splits of 46/44 and included pars on two par 3s, the fifth and 14th.
In third was Bev Pascoe who, after spending a couple of months in Division 2 and taking out the championship, is another player back in Division 1.
Pascoe signed for 98/28/70 which included pars on the first and fifth holes.
Division 2 winner Lyn Gill used every bit of her 45 handicap to master the course and shake off her rivals, signing for a nett 71, with 60 on the outward nine but able to reel it in by four strokes on the sloping inward nine with a 56.
In second place was Jaynee Oberer, who scored 106/34/72 which included a par on the par 4 dog-leg ninth hole.
Closely followed in third place was Lesley McPherson, who scored 103/30/73 with pars on the first, fourth and fifth holes.
Nearest to pin second shot winners on the par 3 fifth hole were on the 16th hole with Josie Ashby from Division 1 and Lynette Hirth from Division 2.
The pro shot on the fifth hole was won by McPherson.
