Open fours attracts players

THE Millicent Bowls Club held its annual Open Fours competition last week, with the format of one game of 12 ends in the morning and two games of pairs over the lunch period, with one pair playing 10 ends while the second pair had lunch, then the reverse took place.

After lunch a second game of fours was played over 12 ends.

A total of 18 teams took part, from Mount Gambier, Mount Gambier RSL, Port MacDonnell and Kingston.

Claiming the honours was a mixed team of two Mount Gambier players, Brian Verwork and Ian VonStanke, with two Millicent players, John Scudds and Iain Campbell with a total score of 119 points.

Second was a Millicent team of Steve Carnellor, Eddie Hann, Terry Lonergan and Rob Chambers with a score of 112.5.

Third with a score of 110.5 was another Millicent team of Andrea Radley, Robert Radley, Brian Goode and Elaine Goode.

In fourth place was another mixed team with, Steve Farrell, Graham Crowder, Garry Feast and a Millicent player Aaron Emonson with a score of 89.5.

Best first game went to the team of Adriana Ross, Ian Ross, Mary Clifford and Denis Clifford.

Best second game went to Derek Bowering and John Drew.

Best third game, Sarah Ross and David Nuske and best fourth game went to Rod Gibbs, Jim Campbell, Andre Reinders and Lurlene Reinders.
