WITH the chance to play on one of the most prestigious and well presented golf clubs in the South East as well as to go onto the Regional final in Adelaide drew an almost capacity field of golfers for the annual VW Scramble at the Blue Lake Golf Club.
Prizes were awarded to the top-10 finishers along with long drives and nearest the pins.
Not only did the event attract quantity, it also attracted quality with a number of scratch golfers from around the region competing.
Among that quality were a number of father and son teams and even a father and daughter team.
It was one of those father and son teams that took out first prize, with Hayden and Blake Schroder teamed with Jason and Zac Shanks to win through to the final in Adelaide.
Robe friends Ben Gordon, Scott Varcoe, Nathan Chapple and Jak Ryan took out second place and due to the number of entries they are also off to Adelaide.
It was a hugely successful day with the course in prime condition thanks to head green keeper Dan Christian and his team and the organisation of Bill Burley and volunteers.
