BACK ON BOARD: Sam Daly has recommitted to the Mount Gambier Pioneers for 2020.

VERSATILE perimeter player Sam Daly has re-committed to the Mount Gambier Pioneers men’s team as the club prepares for its NBL1 debut in 2020.

After joining the club late last season following commitments with the Sydney Kings, Daly is now settled in the Blue Lake city and ready to go to work with his team mates as they prepare to make their debut in Basketball Victoria’s top competition.

Coming off a season where Sam played the “mister fixit” role with the team, scoring 14 points per game, four rebounds and just under five assists, Daly is a welcome inclusion to the roster.

“I believe Sam is ready for a breakout year,” men’s head coach Richard Hill said.

“He is a very experienced 24 year old and has tremendous versatility in his game – he is a deceptive athlete and play-maker who will fit perfectly on the wing for us this season.”

NBL1 continues to attract quality players and with the potential expansion of the NBL, players like Daly will have an opportunity to display their NBL credentials each week in a high-standard competition.

The Pioneers roster continued to take shape with the bulk of last season’s Premier League team returning, along with some new signings.

Stay tuned for another key signing before the team hits the court for their first 2020 camp on January 3.
