LIMESTONE Coast women’s football action heads north this week, with all round four games played in Mundulla on Sunday.

After three split Friday night rounds, it will be the first time teams have all been in one place for the 2019-20 season.

The fixture kicks off with a match between the two win-less sides of the competition, when Kongorong and Penola go head-to-head at 10.30am.

Neither team has tasted success this season, with the Hawks in particular eager to win their first game after joining the league.

They should be in with a chance, as Penola has suffered some hefty defeats, while Kongorong has been around the mark in each of its games.

The Hawks will look to the likes of Samantha Loughhead, Jemma Heraper and Taylor Cozzi for solid games, in what looms as their inaugural victory over a struggling Eagles.

Game two should see Kybybolite keep its undefeated status in tact, as it gears up against Kalangadoo.

The Magpies showed promise in the opening round against Penola, but since then have struggled to match up against their opponents.

It is likely it will a similar scenario on Sunday, with Kyby boasting plenty of firepower through the likes of Holly and Della Hannaford, among others.

The pair sit equal first and third respectively in the league goal kicking standings and can be expected to add to their season totals this round.

A tight game could unfold between Glencoe and South Gambier in the third match of the day, but the latter will enter the game as favourite after a solid show against Kalangadoo last round.

Neave Delaney leads the Demons’ attack and sits equal first in the goal kicking with 10 majors.

Last week Simone Macdonald and Lyndall Feast were also in on the action, complimenting Delaney’s six-goal haul with two each of their own.

Around the ground Claudia Edmonds provides plenty of pace, while Tess Andrews is also dangerous.

For the Murphies, Sarah Edwards has had a solid start to the season, while Donna Jaeschke and Alice Tentye have also been prominent.

As it stands South should win, but Glencoe will be keen to bounce back from last week’s 83-point disappointment against Kybybolite.

Also entering the round with hopes to redeem last week’s performance, Millicent will be a sure favourite against North Gambier.

The Saints lost their first game of the year last round when they faced a polished Casterton Sandford outfit, but will not let another win slip through their hands.

The Tigers had their first success against Kongorong last week, but will likely find themselves out of their depth against the well-drilled Millicent lineup.

Madi Turner is dangerous in most areas of the ground, while Ella Little, Tanaya Redman and Madi Thwaites back her up with their own skills.

North does not appear to have an answer for such a combination and the Saints should march to their third win of the season.

Concluding the fixture at 3.30pm, host Mundulla will match-up with Casterton Sandford.

A tight game can be expected, but the Cats may have the edge over the home side.

They had a confidence-boosting win over Millicent last round and carry momentum into the clash.

The likely absence of Kate Tomkins could weigh the Victorians down, after a suspected concussion last week, but there remains plenty other avenues to move the ball down the field and they should continue their success.
