NEW TIGER IN TOWN: Tantanoola recruiting committee chairman Matt Cytrowski has welcomed recruit Adam Hunter to Tigerland.

THE Tantanoola Football Club has secured former SANFL player Adam Hunter for season 2020.

The 27-year-old comes to the Tigers with an impressive football resume and is understood to have secured employment with a Millicent-based firm

Hunter has spent time playing league football for South Adelaide in seasons 2017-2018 and made one senior appearance for fellow SANFL club Sturt.

He is also a captain and premiership player for Mount Compass in the strong Great Southern league where he played 145 A Grade games.

Tantanoola recruiting committee chairman Matt Cytrowski said he was happy to have a player of Hunter’s stature at the club.

“His football record speaks for itself and he will be a great addition to our young and upcoming side,” Cytrowski said.

“Along with key signings Jak Ryan and Chris Oliver he will add leadership to our young playing list.

“We have been down the bottom end of the ladder the last few years and hope to put a competitive team on the field next year.

“Former players Cohen Williams and Troy Hatt are returning to Tigerland and Troy’s younger brother Jordan will join us from North Gambier, along with Damian Wombell from Casterton.

“We hope to add some more signings in the coming weeks.

“James Varcoe will continue as reserves coach also in season 2020.”

Meanwhile, trainings have started each Friday and will continue up to the Christmas break.

In other Tantanoola news, the administrative side of the club will continue to be overseen in 2020 by president Kylie Serle and secretary Paul Serle.

Veteran clubman and ex-player Shane Kelly has stepped up into the role of vice-president.
