A GRADE – GLENCOE v KALANGADOO

GLENCOE will begin this Saturday’s second Mid South East netball semi-final against Kalangadoo at Port MacDonnell with confidence after a strong season.

Coach Jenna Paproth has produced a formidable combination with imposing match ups all over the court.

At her disposal is possibly the strongest defensive unit in the competition in Caitlin Hentschke and Sarah Edwards.

The pair’s experience working together is an asset to their side, while April Von Duve is a link from defence to attack.

Donna Jeaschke, Jordy Jones and Laura Edwards all combine well in the mid court and will attack at any opportunity.

In the goal circle, Glencoe’s target will be Malinda Markiewicz.

Markiewicz plays with great poise in any high-pressure situation and shoots accurately.

Former Glencoe player Ebony McDiarmid has become an integral part of the Magpies’ attack line.

McDiarmid’s skills have complemented the athleticism and speed of Abbey Duncan perfectly and will be tough to stop under the ring.

Jane Nunan was another new addition to the Kalangadoo side and she has used her speed to drive hard.

She has combined well with Jayde Peacock, who causes many turnovers through the mid court.

In just her second A Grade season, Georgia Duncan has become a key contributor in the Magpies’ defensive end.

Lauren Duncan has also enjoyed a brilliant return to Kalangadoo colours and has caused headaches for all her opponents.

She has formed a strong partnership with youngster Chelsea Croser, while Melissa Russell gives the Magpies another formidable option in attack.

A grandstand finish is expected, but the Murphies should have the edge an advance through to the grand A Grade final.
