THE Western Border football interleague training squad has been revised after the weekend’s round four games, with several worthy inclusions to the roster.

Now finalised, the squad will start training next week, in preparation for the 2019 South East Zone Carnival which will pit it against both the Mid South East and Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara Football League.

Casterton Sandford’s Will Macdonald is a big inclusion and adds further depth to choose from in the ruck, while two more playing coaches have been added to the midst, in addition to East Gambier’s Matt Willson.

West Gambier’s Brad Wilson and North Gambier powerhouse forward Justin McConnell are both deserving selections and will provide both skill and knowledge to the squad.

The Roos’ Steve Wenman, Tom Holmes and Lawry Bradley-Brown have also been added, three players who were surprisingly not on the initial list.

Rounding out the inclusions is Millicent’s Tom Hutchesson.

Hutchesson took an early plea and received a three-match ban for striking while playing for the Crows in the SANFL recently, but should be right for the interleague carnival.

The squad begins training next Wednesday at McDonald Park, with a breakfast meeting this Sunday morning.
