WEST GAMBIER v SOUTH GAMBIER

A CLOSE battle is anticipated when West Gambier and South Gambier face off in the third round of Western Border netball at Malseed Park tomorrow.

Both teams will seek a win after experiencing a disappointing result last round.

The Roos were forced to settle for a draw against Casterton Sandford, while the Demons fought hard against North Gambier, only to fall short in the dying stages.

Tomorrow’s clash will come down to which attack line makes the least errors, as both sides have been best served by their circle defenders in the opening two fixtures.

The battle between West’s Maddy Teakle and South shooter Georgia Hood will be pivotal, as will Demons’ returning defender Alyce Pearce-Raisin taking on Lisa McGregor.

The mid-court tussle between South’s hard runner Alyssa Boylan and West pair of Carly Trevilyan and Emily Hunter, will be crucial.

Tahlia Earl heads into the clash with two good shooting rounds under her belt and McGregor rarely misses, while Hood and Imogen Walker have created space and improved their accuracy each week.

A determined West Gambier side will start as the favourite, but South Gambier will fight hard to avoid another honourable loss.
